The festival is celebrated throughout the entire Memorial Day weekend and includes a parade, a 5K run and a variety of contests. You will see grand floats, bands, equestrians and characters such as Snoopy from Knott’s Berry Farm. Every year, thousands turn out every year for this grand event. You will also see film and television celebrities who are honored in the parade. Admission to the festival is free, but there is a cost for rides.
Participate in the Laguna Hills Memorial Day Marathon on Memorial Day, May 29 in Laguna Hills. The event will feature a 5k, and 10k marathon honoring the U.S. Marine Corps Dark Horse Battalion. Taking place in Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Woods, and Laguna Niguel, it’s a great Memorial Day opportunity for families to put down their mobile devices and get some fresh air! Runners and walkers of all skill level and experience are invited to enjoy the activities. The half marathon (13.1 miles), the 5K run/walk (3.1 miles), the 10K run/walk (6.2 miles) and a kid’s run (1/2 mile) will be on offer and be great fun for everyone involved.
You can also go to the Memorial Day Santa Ana Memorial Day Carnival in Santa Ana running through May 26 – 29. Kick the summer of with three days rides, games, food and live music by local bands.
