This June 6^th, Disneyland® Resort will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage ride. It first opened on June 14, 1959, as part of a major expansion of Tomorrowland. The original Submarine Voyage closed on September 9, 1998 and stayed closed for quite some time until it was ultimately reopened in June 2007, themed to Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo. It is now called the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.

Two other rides celebrating its 60th Anniversary, are both the Matterhorn Bobsleds and the Disneyland Monorail, also both opening as part of the expansion of Tomorrowland sixty years ago. The Matterhorn Bobsleds are modeled after the Matterhorn, a mountain in the Alps on the border with Switzerland and Italy. It is the first known tubular steel continuous track roller coaster and can be found between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland.

The Disneyland® Resort Monorail is transportation system that takes visitors around the Disneyland® Resort. Walt Disney envisioned the monorail as a practical form of public transport for the future. In fact, it was the first daily operating monorail in the Western Hemisphere. The Disneyland® Resort Monorail has two stations, one in Tomorrowland and another in the Downtown Disney district. The original Monorail was a round trip ride with no stops. However, the Monorail has received several upgrades over the years and is now an actual transportation system that travels throughout the park.

In July, on the 17^th, the Disneyland® Resort will be also be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Splash Mountain. Splash Mountain is a log flume and is based on the characters, stories, and songs from the 1946 Disney film Song of the South, telling the story of Br’er Rabbit, the protagonist, a mischievous hero who leaves his home in search of adventure.

On August 9^th, you can celebrate the 50th anniversary this year of Haunted Mansion, which places riders inside a haunted manor with a walk-through show is displayed to riders waiting in the line queue. After a short wait, riders board ride-through vehicles that take them through a scary mansion filled with a range of technology and special effects featuring spooky, spectral audio-animatronics.
